Genie garage door installation in Los Angeles typically costs $825 – $2,595 for a complete new door, and we’re usually on-site within a stated window, not a vague “sometime today.” We’re an independent Genie service provider, which means we work on your equipment without being tied to manufacturer pricing or warranty games. The number on your invoice matches the number we quote before any work starts, in writing.
Marcus Ellery leads our Los Angeles crew. He grew up in Reseda and has been inside more Genie openers and doors than he can count. If you’ve got a Genie that’s acting up or you’re ready for a new door, call (213) 996-0290. We’ll tell you what’s happening and what it actually costs to fix it.
How Genie Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
Genie builds reliable equipment, but every brand has its patterns. Here’s what we see across Los Angeles garages, from the Valley to the South Bay.
- IntelliG series opener carrier trolleys seize on the rail. The IntelliG (and older TriloG) uses a plastic trolley that rides the screw or belt rail. In Los Angeles, fine dust from the foothills and beach salt air work into that plastic until it binds. The door still opens, but it grinds, and eventually the trolley strips. We replace the trolley and clean the rail before installing the new door, so the fresh opener isn’t fighting a worn rail from day one.
- Chain glide and belt glide models lose limit calibration after a power blip. Los Angeles gets its share of brownouts and public-safety power shutoffs in the foothills. When the power drops, the limit switch on a Genie chain glide sometimes forgets where the floor is. The door slams or reverses mid-close. Before we hang a new door, we recalibrate the limits and test the force settings, because a door that thinks the floor is four inches higher than it is will never close right.
- Genie’s Safe-T-Beam sensors develop intermittent faults from direct sun. A lot of Los Angeles garages face west, and those sensor eyes bake in afternoon sun. The infrared beam washes out, so the door reverses every time. We reposition or shield the sensors during installation, because a new door that won’t stay closed is worse than the old one that opened slow.
- Screw drive models (the older Excelerator) run hot and trip the thermal overload. The Excelerator line was fast, but it runs hot. In a Los Angeles summer, a closed garage can hit 110 degrees before noon. The motor overheats and shuts off mid-cycle. We replace these with a belt drive Genie or a quieter Chamberlain/LiftMaster unit, depending on the door weight and your budget.
- Wall console “learn” buttons fail, taking remotes out of sync. Genie’s console learn button gets bumped, and suddenly every remote forgets its code. We reprogram the opener and all remotes as part of the installation, then label the console so nobody accidentally wipes the codes again. Ask us about the keypad; it’s worth having one.
Styles & brands we work with

Our Genie Garage Door Installation Process
- 1
You call, a person answers. Day or night. We set a real arrival window, not a four-hour guess.
- 2
We diagnose before we quote. We test the opener, measure the door, and check the springs, tracks, and balance. We show you what we found and explain it in plain language.
- 3
We give you a written price. That price includes parts and labor for the whole job. Nothing gets added at the door.
- 4
We do the work. We use OEM Genie parts where they matter most (circuit boards, limits, sensors) and quality aftermarket parts where they’re functionally identical and save you money, like rollers and hinges. We’ll tell you which is which.
- 5
We test, clean, and walk you through it. We cycle the door multiple times, photograph the finished install, and hand you the written Kingswell Guarantee. The garage is cleaner than we found it.

Why Los Angeles Homeowners Call Bramwell Garage Doors Los Angeles for Genie Work
Because the Kingswell Guarantee is in writing. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if a repair we make fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That commitment is on paper, not just said at the door. Our technicians are background-checked, uniformed, and trained on Genie equipment specifically, but we also service LiftMaster and Chamberlain, so if your Genie opener is beyond saving, we can swap in a different brand without you calling another company. We say the price before the work, show up in the window, leave the place cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. That’s the Kingswell Way, and it’s been the standard since 2001.
