Amarr Garage Door Installation in Los Angeles: What to Know First

We install and service Amarr garage doors throughout Los Angeles as an independent Amarr service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer. A full Amarr door installation typically runs $825 to $2,595 depending on door size, material, and whether we’re reusing existing track and hardware. Most installations are completed in a single day once your door arrives, and we give you a written price before any work starts. If you’re noticing a door that binds on one side, a panel that’s separating at the seam, or rollers that grind against the track, call (213) 996-0290 and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a repair or a replacement.

How Amarr Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

Amarr builds a solid door, but after enough years in Los Angeles heat and coastal air, certain patterns show up. Here’s what we see most often, by line, and what we do about it.

  • Lincoln and Heritage series: delaminating sections near the bottom panel. These steel doors hold up well, but the bottom section sits closest to driveway moisture and sprinkler overspray. Once the weather seal cracks, water wicks into the panel edge and the steel face starts to separate from the foam core. We see it most in neighborhoods like Mar Vista and Westchester, where overnight fog keeps things damp. When delamination is caught early, we can sometimes reseal the edge; once the face lifts more than a quarter inch, that panel gets replaced or we talk about a new door.
  • Classica and Oak Summit carriage-house doors: hinge screws pulling out of the stile. The decorative overlay on these doors adds real weight without adding much structural stiffness at the hinge points. Over time, the screw holes wallow out, the door sags, and you get that scraping sound when the section passes the curve of the track. We fix this by installing threaded inserts or, on heavier doors, upgrading to longer hinge leaves that spread the load into intact wood.
  • Olympus and Stratford windows: cracked glazing from direct sun. These lines use tempered glass in aluminum frames, and most of the time that’s fine. But doors that face west in the San Fernando Valley take brutal afternoon heat, and the aluminum frame expands faster than the glass. A hairline crack starts at the corner and then runs. We replace the window insert as a unit rather than trying to reglaze in place, which never holds.
  • Rollers that chew through nylon and then hit the metal bearing. This isn’t Amarr-specific so much as it is heavy-door-specific. Once the nylon tire on a roller wears through, the steel bearing rides directly on the track. The door gets louder, then it starts to shudder. On Amarr doors with heavier carriage panels, we recommend a roller upgrade at installation time rather than waiting for the factory rollers to fail. It’s a small cost and it changes how the door feels for years.
  • Heritage 3000 and similar insulated doors: track brackets loosening on stucco walls. Los Angeles garages are mostly stucco over wood framing, and the constant micro-movement from temperature swings loosens track brackets faster than in other parts of the country. We see this on plenty of brands, but Amarr’s heavier insulated doors put more load on the track, which means loose brackets show symptoms sooner. We re-secure brackets with proper anchors and, where the stucco is crumbling, we’ll add a backing plate before remounting.

Our Amarr Garage Door Installation Process

Marcus Ellery runs our Amarr jobs the same way he’s run every installation since he learned the trade at Los Angeles Pierce College and later working alongside experienced door installers across the Valley. Tell me what it’s doing, and I’ll tell you what it needs. That’s the approach from the first call to the final walkthrough.

  1. 1
Measure and verify. We measure the opening, check ceiling clearance for the track, and confirm whether the existing track is compatible or needs replacing. On Amarr doors, we also check section weight against the spring package. Amarr’s heavier carriage designs sometimes ship with springs sized for the base door, and if you’re adding windows or insulation, the spring needs to match.
  2. 2
Written price before any work. You get the full number, parts and labor, before we touch a bolt. The price on the invoice matches the price we quoted. No door-step surprises.
  3. 3
Remove the old door and inspect the opening. We strip the old sections, track, and hardware, then check the jambs, header, and opener mounting points. If there’s water damage hiding behind an old door, this is where we find it.
  4. 4
Set the new Amarr sections and balance the door. We install the new sections, rollers, track, and springs, then balance the door so it sits where you leave it, halfway up or anywhere else. A balanced door protects the opener motor and keeps sections from binding.
  5. 5
Test the full cycle. We cycle the door fifteen to twenty times, watch the cable wind, listen to the rollers, and set the opener’s limit switches so the motor stops exactly where it should. Then we clean the work area and walk you through what we did.

All of it is covered by the Kingswell Guarantee: a written price, a real arrival window, a clean job site, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

What Amarr Garage Door Installation Costs in Los Angeles

A new Amarr door in Los Angeles runs $825 to $2,595 installed. The spread comes down to a few things: single versus double width, the Amarr series you choose, whether you add windows or insulation, and whether we’re reusing your existing track or installing new. Most single-car steel doors land in the $825 to $1,400 range; a double-wide carriage-house door in the Classica or Oak Summit lines will run closer to $1,600 to $2,595. If you’re replacing a door that also needs new track, add roughly $200 to $400. Here’s the line-item view so you know what to expect:

  • Single-car steel Amarr door, installed: $825 – $1,400
  • Double-car steel Amarr door, installed: $1,200 – $1,900
  • Double-car carriage-house Amarr door (Classica, Oak Summit), installed: $1,600 – $2,595
  • New track and hardware (when existing can’t be reused): $200 – $400
  • Roller upgrade (nylon to steel-bearing, all four or more rollers): $130 – $260
